Koni Sale--- IS OVER
Just an announcement that the Koni sale that has been running from February through today is officially ended.
I cannot accept any further orders at the sale price, it will take some time for me to make my website pricing reflect this. I'm sorry to anyone who missed their sale, but you had 5 months to get an order it--and Koni has pulled the plug.
Those of you with orders and on backorder will receive your shocks ASAP upon arrival in order of when your particular orders were placed, oldest first.

CHEAP ROTORS = NO GOOD
This is the best example yet of why you don't want to cheap out on your brake rotors. This set has less than 3,000 miles on them. They were purchased from a well-known vendor of F-body parts (not me) because the price was too good to pass up.
The website isn't setup to allow enlarge pictures from the main page. But if you right click on the picture you can save it to your computer and blow it up. You'll see a nice big crack (not a heat checking type crack, but an actual split radiating from the slot closest to the brake caliper.
Clearly the price should have been too good to pass up, as they are already junk and two sets of crappy rotors will cost as much as one set of premium rotors when the shipping and time to change them is all said and done.
Just look, they are so new the hats haven't even discolored yet.
Right click and save the picture to your computer to see it enlarged... The crack is very apparent on the left side nearer the caliper.

Strano Performance Parts Lowering Springs are currently sold out. The last order that arrived contained 111 sets of springs, and they were all gone in just over 2 weeks.
Another run is on order. More spring sets will arrive **approximately June 30th 2009**.
As was the case we can take back-orders for springs off of the next run which insures any of the first 100 sets orders will receive their springs on a first-come, first-served basis. An important note: We are not charging customers for their back-ordered springs until they arrive in stock. But back-orders must be placed complete with a credit-card number, or pre-payment in order for spring to be held.
Thank you to all who have made the SP141 Lowering Springs such a resounding success.

5th SCCA National Championship + 4th SCCA ProSolo Series Championship
I'm back from Kansas, and the news for us is good. I won my 5th SCCA National Championship. It's also my third in a row and 5 in the last 7 years. I also managed to squeak out the win and championship for the ProSolo series as well. Also 3 in a row there and 4 in the last 7 years.
This was, without doubt, the toughest year of competition I can remember. I was running essentially a spec class, and I share all my setup information with my customers. So it was all about driving this year, and I was pushed to the limit and then some. In fact, 4 of the top 8 in F-stock this year are members of Autocrossers Inc. out of Maryland. Basically every local event is a warm-up for Nationals. Proof that competition makes you better.
A quote in the article on SCCA.com:
"Sam Strano, of Knoxdale, Pa., also jumped from third to first following Wednesday’s runs. Strano took home his second-consecutive F Stock National Championship in a Strano Performance/Capital Quest Mtg. Ford Shelby Mustang by 0.369-second over day one leader Jason Burns, of Red Lion, Pa., who was also driving a Strano Performance Parts Ford Shelby Mustang. This gives Strano a total of five National Championships."

We miss you Arlyn.....
In memory of Arlyn Senter Strano. We miss you.
Mom truly enjoyed coming to work, talking to customers and helping folks with their needs. As much as she helped our customers, she of course was a much larger help to her family, and her presence is missed every single day by all of us.

GM High Tech Performance Magazine articles
GM High Tech Performance Magazine's last three issues have been really good for Strano Performance Parts.
My 2001 Z28 was on the cover of the September 2007 issue, and the article covers the technical basics of the car, with some great photos (including a 2 page action shot).
The last two issues featured Editor Rick Jensen's 2001 Z28 in a 2 part article titled "1SC-YA". Part 1 covered the installation of one of Strano Performance Parts Handling Packages--number 3 in this case. Mostly it was a installation article with only a few impressions about the result and a couple of lap times on a track on street tires. That was still quite good, as the times had tumbled by some 3.4 seconds.
But Part 2 of the article is even better. While most of it focuses on things like oils, seats, and a set of R-comp tires, the end of it has both street and track impressions from Rick. And I couldn't have asked for a nicer review.
Rick drove the car to times another 3.5 seconds a lap quicker, for a total of 6.9 seconds of time shaved off of the laps on a 1.35 mile track. This is with the same suspension he uses to daily drive the car to and from work across New York City. And he addresses just how the car works. A few quick quote from the article:
"I am, quite simply, blown away by the Z28's new suspension".
"Strano has balanced his spring rates and bar sizes to provide sick handling on the track, and very liveable manners on the road".
"All in all, I couldn't be happier with the mods we made to this Camaro".
